This is a suggested practice (#5) for the Calendar:
Connect with Plant Allies
Connecting with plant allies is a huge topic we'll probably never fully exhaust. But as someone with an ever-growing affinity for befriending plant allies, I couldn't leave this out of the calendar cycle. While there's much more to explore, I'm hoping those of you interested in herbal remedies and seasonal recipes might partner with me to create next year's calendar with expanded details. For now, we'll focus on seven herbs through the seasons: chickweed, dandelion, motherwort, comfrey, plantain, nettle, and burdock root—that's a good start.
- I'll be sharing recipes for vinegars, oils, teas, and tinctures to help you get started on this journey.
- If making remedies isn't your thing, consider using ready-made products. I make these remedies myself and would be happy to share some with you. Most importantly, I encourage you to incorporate these season-specific herbs into your diet or lifestyle to help your body align with the changing seasons.
- Beyond herbs, I've included suggestions for various recipes: teas, soups using specific vegetables and fungi that support your internal organs, digestion, and immune system throughout the seasons. I'll share my favorite recipes and preparations with you—and as always, if you'd like to collaborate to build this knowledge base, please reach out.
