Wines are mentioned in the Huangdi Neijing (HDNJ), Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine as medicine or treatment. They can harmonize blood and qi, could serve as tonic for Yang and expel colds.
What alcohol to use?
Clear grain alcohol such as vodka makes a strong wine, but might not taste to good. You can use brandy, sherry, port, cognac or whiskey. I made my latest batch with dark rum and it turned out super delicious!
